Black Boston is a nonprofit pending organization focused on community outreach programs with the goal of empowering black and minority voices. I work as their graphic designer and more recently as their art director. Working closely with the founders of the organization and our marketing team, I developed the brand identity of Black Boston which included logos, color palette, design aesthetic and guidelines.
The development of Black Boston's image began with creating a logo. I wanted it to be clean and geometric. We had established that Black Boston's main objective is to be a community organization through social programs. I experimented ways to show this merging of people in the community through layering or shape manipulation.
This is the final long-hand and short-hand logo. I felt this minimalist logo embodied the message of Black Boston. I created a short-hand logo for our social medias and smaller branded spaces.
This is the chosen color palette for Black Boston. I wanted to base it off of the original Black Power Movement colors (red, yellow, black, green), but staying aligned with the more muted tones of today's design trends. This color palette allows for a variety of color combos in our graphics and will still feel cohesive throughout.

Hiring Announcement
This is an interactive PDF made to explain our available positions during our last round of hiring. I presented the roles in a catalogue because it was the most organized format and I could showcase a bit of our design aesthetic.
